Medical Device Sales Jobs at PHC Consulting

Well-known medical device companies:

Abbott Laboratories Allergan
Bard Baxter
Boston Scientific Hospira
Johnson & Johnson Medtronic
St. Jude Medical Stryker
Zimmer

The medical device arena is a great one to be involved in! A medical device sales rep explains new products and technologies in calls on surgeons, specialists, or executive-level client, often during procedures in operating rooms or hospitals.

Areas include orthopedics, cardiology, and more. A medical device sales rep is positioned as the expert and consultant on new products, and needs a scientific background with an additional understanding of mechanical concepts, high-level selling skills, technical expertise, high energy, and often a strong stomach!

Medical device sales jobs usually require a lot of travel over a multi-state territory, but salaries and commissions are very competitive, and there’s significant opportunity for growth. The industry outlook is strong.

Who makes the best candidates for these positions?

Of course, many clients want someone who has been there and done that….but there are some who will consider candidates with a strong sales background and technical degree. Some clients love to hire an RN (Registered Nurse) with sales experience.

If you don’t have the specific experience, consider doing a ride – along where you actually see a rep in action. This will communicate to the next company you interview with that you are:

  1. Willing to do what it takes to be successful
  2. Really have a good understanding of the job
  3. Know that you can handle the rigors of a position that requires you to be in the OR at times.

If you are interested in these types of positions, please submit your resume to PHC Consulting.
